bugs in 5.9 jj O.s....

Prob with rec mix change, mode+ pad 8 then f4 to turn on rec mix changes:yes, does not activate rec.

Also this may not be a bug, but why cant you move direct record tracks.
Doesnt this limit you to only 8 tracks. Shouldnt he have left direct record alone??? If these are not bugs what is the proper way to perform these functions

Direct record and audio tracks are 2 different things really. Direct record was simply a means of recording continously while simultainiously playing back sequences. Audio tracks are a new concept which introduce a different way of actually playing back the audio, it's not triggered by events so regardless of where you start the sequence the audio will play from the correct point.

I think direct record was simply removed because by using Audio tracks or Record mode you could pretty much achieve the same results.

my problem is w/ the akai os you could direct record and treat it as if it was an audio track: effects, filter, track move, etc.. you cant do that w/ jjs os..??. its as if your direct record track is in limbo.. also your only limited to 8 direct record tracks..HHUUMMM what is the point to having that function at all if almost everything you midi to the MPC has 16 tracks.. the way akai had it was limitless..

Also what about the problem w/ recording mix changes??? am i the only person w/ these problems??

Hmmmm. let's see.
With the Akai O.S. you could have 1 Continous sample track, JJ gives you 8 Audio tracks that perform that way.
The limitation seems to be on the Akai side.
No matter if you used direct record to sample something or not only one sound could be treated as a continous sample in the Akai O.S.
With JJ any audio track works as a Continous sample.
Also in JJ the Audio takes for the Audio tracks are accessible in TRIM mode just like any other sample and can even be assigned to a pad in a program.
So what is it you can't do with the JJ Audio tracks and why can't you locate them?

When edit a program in old program edit (Mode+ Pad7) you cant set Note to lower than 35(B0).
In new JJ menu Mode+ pad 11 it works like its supposed. Its great JJ added the possibility to set lower notes then 35.

Can anyone confirme this?

The one and only reason I used Direct Record on the Akai OS was so that I could jam over my beat, then just hit record when I felt I had something good to lay down over the top and the sequence would carry on playing, then loop back round with the stuff you just played banged over the top. It just felt soo good. The JJOS doesn't allow this immediacy; you have to stop your sequence from playing, then wait for a count in before you can then start riffin over your tracks. I really hate that JJ has taken this quick and easy route to my creative flow away. it really !@*kin bugs me

You can turn off the count-in.
