The standard MP in Hip Hop is the 3000 and some still swear by the 60. Quik for example has stated that he would never get rid of his 3000 and has purchased several backups, as Dre, Jermaine Dupri and many others.

With that said, what made you purchase your MP? And for those of you that are blessed enough to have owned a several MP's, why did you chose yours, and what are the differences - to YOU, not quotes, but to you directly.

The 2KXL is not yet a classic, but will be.

The 3000 for me, for sound & build, but the 2KXL is just a great machine to make beats on. Its UI is very simple & user friendly.

Roger Linn was involved with the 60, 60II & 3000. In my opinion, all of these are the real classics.

What matters is that you use an MPC. All of them share the same great concept in Sampler/Sequencer/Drum Machine. Thats all you need to know!

It is the standard by professional Hip Hop producers. If you go to Dre, Quik, Battlecat, Bobcat, Lil Jon, Jermaine Dupree they all use the 3000. Quik has several as does Dre for back up. Prior to that is was the 60. If you go to forat.com and count the number of 3000's that Bruce has customized compared to all of the others it carries its hands down the 3000.

Roger Linn was involved with the 60, 60II & 3000. In my opinion, all of these are the real classics.

What matters is that you use an MPC. All of them share the same great concept in Sampler/Sequencer/Drum Machine. Thats all you need to know!



I agree. Any MP will do for me!! I think it is the Roger Linn feel with the 3000 and the 60. They both have a nice swing to them.

I sold my 2000xl but got it back from the guy after he said the pads didnt work. UPS paid for the damage and it is at VST getting repaired. I hated to see it go :cry: :cry: :cry: But I am sure glad I got it back :lol: :lol: :lol: Now I have the 2000xl and the 1000. Both are great machines. I am looking for a 3000 right now and Bruce is going to customize it for me, man I cant wait. Got some of my music placed on Americas Top Model, and MTV. I love this game!!!!
