i'm cotemplating buying the mpc1000 but i need your help to make my desiscion as to whether to go for it or not.
At the moment i've got logic audio platinum 5.5 & wavelab on pc. I've got loads of virtual instruments and plug ins. I can pretty much do everything from producing the music to mixing, mastering and finally create an audio cd all using my computer.
The thing is, the music that has inspired me and influenced me is hiphop, particularly experimental hiphop, dj shadow, kool keith, dan the automator etc etc. The majority of the music that im into is generally sample based and put together on an mpc. So im thinkin to myself, right if i wanna make that sort of music properly, then i need the right tools for the job. Maybe im thinkin i should move away from the pc all together. Im sure crate diggin for soundz, and the hands on interface of the mpc would be alot more fun than staring at a computer screen for hours aswell!
Im also aware of the punchy sound that the mpc gives to the soundz you put inside it and also the "special groove" of the sequencer that so many talk about. (although im sure people will disagree that there is nothing special about the sequencer at all, - im not trying to start an argument on that, im just conveying what i've read on this forum)
Anyway im not asking you to make a desiscion for me, i just want some advice....... should i leave my software set up behind and get an mpc1000?????
