Hey..new to this royalty thing. I've been selling beats for a while but not doing royaltys. I had a question for any of you who've used ascap or bmi. When you sell a beats exclusive rights, after you registered it with bmi or ascap do you still get royaltys from it. I was curious because you transfer copyright ownership when doing exclusive rights, do some of you only sell non-exclusive. Plz fill me in..Thanks

when you transfer the copyright, you lose all rights to the composition.

You only transfer rights if you choose too....You could easily put in the terms that you still own the beat while selling it to them, they can just do exclusively whatever they want with it!!!!
