Just installed cd drive it "seems" to work, meaning the light blinks disc spins and all that but for some reason neither the load screen or input in record recognize the drive. reinstalled the os (akai 1.22) still no love anyone had this happen? Any suggestions? thanx in advance

im having the same problem, when i go to the load screen it reads mine as "HARD DISK", and im pretty sure i know the difference between a hard drive a cdrw/dvd drive.

if we could get any help. it will be much appreciated.
thanks in advance.

check back of cd drive for hd50 pin jack--the 2nd to left upper pin should be missing--if not your going to have to push pin 47 back into housing with small screwdriver--mine didn't work either--it came up as master when it shoul have been slave--if not then it didn't work to begin with

Is there any way you could post a pic of the way you modded the drive! I am not sure about the pin you are referring to...

Thanks

put the drive on your palm the right way up (as if it were in the mpc). now turn it round so the socket is facing you. look at the top row of pins, you want the one second from left

What did you guys use to push the pin in with?
