Triton Le or MicroKorg for MP?

alright guys, i'm hoping you guys could help me make this decision, I have a limited amount of funds to spend on new music equipment, I'm considering purchasing a SYNTH or Keyboard or what not, The items are between the KORG TRITON LE or the MICROKORG.
i'm debating because i dont' want to spend $1000 us dollars on the Triton LE when i could spend just $400 for the MICRKORG and get the same sounds (i think)
I understand the triton le haves sampling capabilities but i don't need that cuz i got the MPC1000 to do that. And the MicroKORG looks like a toy! I don't like the keys on them, and the fact that it could be powered by batteries,...(HAHA) that sounds like a "toy" to me.
So should I go and spend money on the MICRO KORG
or
Should I save some money for the TRITON LE? Besides, I heard the Triton LE is pretty hot too! But if i could save money, I'd rather get the MICROKORG, if it gets the job done. Thanks for all your replys!

The Microkorg and the Triton LE dont have the same sounds playa! The Triton LE is a workstation so it will have piano, synth, string sounds etc... The Microkorg is tight for analog synth sounds but if u want to play melodies then I would cop the Triton LE[which has bigger keys for playin melodies] for now and then upgrade to the Triton Extreme, Fantom-X or the Motif ES when u start makin some $$$$ from yur production!

tite! so should i just get the phantom now? Because i know alot of folks have the triton le, and i don't want to sound like them.

word, the micro & the le are totally different beasts, apples to oranges

Yeah just get the Motif ES or the Fantom-X! Forget about the Triton Le and the microkorg if u ask me! I have the Motif ES 6 and the 1k tight duo mos def!

You wont sound like anyone if you tweak the presets. There is alot of ish you can do with a Triton le. People just assume that it can only make the preset sounds. This isnt true. It can make some freaky eaky ish. I know I used to own one. Don't sell a peice of equipment short if you havent been through every screen and tweeked every option. Holla if you got ?'s

the keys on the microkorg are nearly worthless. very tiny and cheap-o feeling keys are no fun to me..

I dont think the Triton Le can be expanded at all. I was looking at one, because the Motif and Fantom were out of my price range but the lack of expandability steered me away. I ended up buying a used jv2080 instead because it has 8 expansion slots(which i'm slowly filling up...). It seems like rackmount units are the way to go if you want serious expandability. You might wanna check out the Triton or Motif XR racks, they're actually more powerful than the keyboard variants, and cheaper too. They also both sample. The Motif rack is the same kinda deal, too, cheaper and more powerful than its keyboard variant. The only thing with the Motif rack is that you lose sampling.

Oh yeah, no sampling on the Triton Le, either. (although you could buy the sampling board seperately, but if you were going to drop that kind of cash, you might as well start looking at higher models like the classic, or studio)

so i should get some sound modules? Hmm....your'e right, i have a 61 key midi controller right now and it's pretty cool, i think if i just purchased a sound module, I'll be ok?!? I went to GC yesterday and checked out some EMU MO' PHATT? or sumthin like that, I'm debating if i should just purchase this? It's got 64 voice polyphony and it's expandable, not only that, it's cost is only $599 u.s.! That's a killer deal! with the money i'll be saving, I'll buy more sound chips! That's what the salesmen told me...how cool is that! has anyone used a Mo" PHATT?

the emu stuff usually sounds dull compared to the more expensive stuff. ive had 3 of their boxes, they are fun to play with but the sound quality isnt always big

I've never used a mo phatt before, but I'm not so sure about the sounds in it. They might be cheezy. For 599, though, you have a lot of options as far as modules go. I would definitely take a look at the JV series from roland. The top of the line JV2080(my weapon of choice ) can be found on ebay for 300-400 bucks all the time. For a little less dough you could get a 1080, but editing is a **** because it only has a 2 line display (plus it "only" has 4 expansion slots; the 2080 has 8 ). The 2080 has a large easy to navigate screen.

You could even look at the newer XV series, though they're gonna be more money. Then you could use the XV expansion boards which are supposed to be even better than the JV ones(although thats hard to believe, because the sounds on the 2080 are incredible enough)
