Hi,
I just got my mpc 2500 and Im curious about the subject i've posted.

My plan is kinda to connect the Mpc2500 to my Mac, so I can record both Audio/Midi into Reason and the finally record the finished track in Pro-tools.
I need to MIDI sync these right?

My equipment is:

MIDI Keyboard
12 Channel Mixer
MPC 2500
Mac
MBox 2
Technics 1210

If you got any tips for me on how to connect these the best way please hit me up with suggestions :)

thank you all

Well first off, you can't record audio into Reason. What is your aim? It would seem to me much smarter to record everything into Pro Tools. If you have bits of sequencing in reason then why not just rewire Reason with Pro Tools (or can you not rewire with Pro Tools?) and sync your MPC with Pro Tools or just record your MPC and Reason Parts as audio files and then dump them in Pro tools and do it that way...

Thank you robthebank :) It seems great.
My aim is to hook up my MIDI keyboard to reason, so i can record midi parts into Pro-tools, but then is it possible to "convert MIDI into audio" somehow? like record the them on an audio track?
And then use Pro-tools as a recording source from the Mpc and other sources. Should i go for Audio recording or Midi recording in pro-tools from all devices?

When it comes to connecting these, it is best to connect e'm all thru my mixer via inputs and then REC OUT from my mixer to an INPUT on my soundcard?

Does anyone got a guide for how to connect this properly?
thank you again

Yeah you seem to have the right idea. You will if you've done all the MIDI sequencing on the MPC, (which is why I assumer you bought it in the first place) then you will want to record your parts as audio in Pro Tools, same with Reason if you have any parts (Export as Audio or something like that). Then you mix it all down with just Pro Tools using as much processing as you want and you can always go back and re-record the audio if you want to change things.

That should cover everything...
