I painted my XL silver so the grey buttons look a little wack, but haven't seen anyone selling buttons other than forat, and they charge way too much for a sheet of rubber. I would think that most types of paint would crack on the rubber, so I never tried that. But that advice from Toecutter sparks some interest. I'd just be woried it might make them too wide and not fit back in the shell.

If you're gonna get crazy, how about install one of those glow tubes inside the mpc, and cut out little holes for the light to beam out of. haha.

I've always wondered about the LCD as so many people have to replace them and I am sure I will have to someday as well. Is it the LCD itself that goes out or is it just the backlight? I wouldn't think that just the backlight would cost so much. I would also think that the LCD screen is a comon component used in many other devices that you could get from an electronic parts vendor. Makes me wonder if it would be possible to cop one with the same resolution, but cooler brighter colors that most synths use now (and I dont think they burn out).

Anybody use 2 working MPCs? I had trouble finding any old posts about that using the search.

I think its' actually the LCD cause they get lines across it and you can't read certain things like that. My screen has yet to go out, knock on wood. I baby my mp like an infant and make sure she's fed the proper vinyl diet so she's healthy.

I had glow in the dark paint that was pretty flexible a few years ago. Believe it or not, we made a two story high glow-in-the-dark-xmas-tree.

I can recommend painting them yourself without gloves on. You''ll also have glow in the dark doorhandles, beercans, stearingwheels and possibly a girl with glow in the dark breast pretty soon.

My pads are standard on the se2 (orange) MPC, They glow in the dark.
SE1 (purple) also had standard glow in the dark pads. I guess you've never seen them.

Mine are red and white. The white part of the pad glows neon green at night JUST like that light switch on d's post.
