Mpc 2500 and fantom xa

If anyone have these two devices connected through midi. Can you please tell exactly how your setting are, b/c i'm having a hard time getting the two to work together. I have the midi cables hook up right i think i just need the settings. Let me tell you what i want them to do. I want to record the sounds from the keyboard into the mpc. I read the manual and tried everthing and its still not working. So if anyone can tell me exactly how they midi settings are in the fantom and the mpc i will appreciate it very much.

Go to roland clan for all questions on the Fantom. You will get much help there, I use it all the time.

I had the same problem with my 2500/X6 setup...went through the manuals, but you still need to tweak things. This is how I got my settings:

MPC
Active track receive channel: ALL
Soft thru: OFF
Sequence change by program change: OFF
Pad to internal sound: ON

Fantom Sound Screen
Local Switch: ON
Fantom MIDI Screen
Transmit: ALL OFF
Receive: ALL OFF
Fantom USB Screen
USB Mode: Storage

Don't ask me why this configuration worked...I just tried a bunch of different sh*t till I started to hear sound! lol I haven't got into the program changes and all of the sh*t yet, so I just select instruments with the Fantom and sequence in the MPC. When I'm done, I'll just save in both machines with the same name. Good luck!

Very true...the Roland Clan site is very informative. If you haven't been there already, I suggest you go there even if what my config works for you. Sometimes, people rush to tell you to check your manual there too...even when the answer ain't there! lol For the most part though, I learned a sh*tload of stuff from there!
