so, i will get it in couple of days, so tell me some hints how to prepair so i would be complete tourist when i have it in my hands.

like, someone could tell me what i must do when i open it the first time,and how=) then i have the manual of course so i can check it out after it arrives.

or something, thanks!

ps. is there some online manual to mpc1k? would be cool, peace

You can download the manual, free kits etc. from the Akai International page http://www.akaipro.com/int/mpc1k/index.html

When you get it, you need no more than 1/4" plug headphones to get started, or 2 x 1/4" plugs for cable to an amp. All plugs are 1/4", if you sample from turntable you need a separate RIAA preamp, it's not included.

If you fire it up with the CF card in, you get the Akai "Autoload" programs, demo songs & samples straight away, If the card is out you get the smaller Internal demo set. If you don't want either to load, you can turn the Internal set off (see manual pg 83) and move/delete/rename the Autoload directory on the card.

If you have a PC or Mac you can use the USB mode to transfer samples etc back & forth, but if you have a separate CF reader you can just move the card around like it was a Zip disk.
