Open up your MPC2000xl and clean out the juice, that will not cost much money at all!

Yeah I would try cleaning the juice out. Since it still works maybe cleaning will restore it to it's original working order.

If you want the functionality of the 2000, you'd better get that one repaired. The major advantage of the 500 over other MPCs is its portability, above anything else. I use it to make beats while on the go. I then move everything over to the MPC1000 and finish it on that machine.

Yeah, if you can afford it, the 2500 is proably your best bet. :D

i wouldn't get the 500 if you were just going to use it on its own, but its great to compliment the 1000 or 2500.

surely repairing the 2000 would be cheaper than a new unit!

and form what ive read if youve had the bigger 2000 the 1000 will instantly make you feel cramped but the 500 must be in comparison a nightmare.

If you want a new mpc (its my first time ever owning one but this baby rocks mpc1000).

I think the fact its the most sold mpc speaks volumes (though price does come into the equation and you get the idiots who go well so an so uses one so if i buy one i will sound as good as (thanks to those guys though i got mine cheap secondhand) JJ rocks this damn machine (support via him second to none)

I would not get the 500. 1000 more cost effective. I dont like the two line screen.
