Man, think of all the beats you could have made in those couple of years!

I haven't seen any problems yet with the new OS (which was installed on mine from the get-go).

so basicly, Akai sends everyone a update software if they find constant bugs?

no, they make it available on the Akai website, and you get it from there.

As far as i know there are two bugs right now: 1) the occurence of clipping sounds in some samples in ram and 2) samples not triggered by the sequencer.
See http://www.mpc-forums.com/viewtopic.php?t=9644
This happens only occasionally and some people experience those bugs and a lot of people don't.
I don't know how long it will take Akai to fix it but i can live with it for now and would't want to waste time waiting for the final os.
Check the threads concerning this topic and decide for yourself.

try to see a "larger" picture. This is a new product that came out few months ago. AKAI approach was normal. All big companies do it that way. Think of software, .....they always release a trial/beta version, so that they can get feedback on what should be fixed. Those machines are getting too complicated to cover all the "test cases" before their first release, and it would taken them alot of time and money to test everything, which most probably would increase the price!

The hardware is good, and after only 3 OS updates, most of the bugs were killed. So in my opinion, AKAI have done a good job afterall. Plus for 1000$ the MPC1000 is a great piece of gear. Can you get something similar from Roland? with the same features and same price?

according to the forums, I find that there are many bugs still inside the MCP1000. It's been out only for a couple months and who knows what else is wrong. So in my experience (had many new equipment that were defected) I'm going to wait 2 years. Thats a reasonal amount of time for Akai to do their thing and make the MPC 1000 better than it is today.

you see-- i was ready to cop the mpc1000-- but now after reading this i cant get down with clicks in the samples or the sequencer "occasionaly" not triggering samples!!! damn and i was really looking foward to dropping my paycheck on this.... Can anyone reassure that this is only happening to very few mpc1000's??
