Sampling static and noise problem

I tried sampling from my turntable to my MPC2000 classic, but it has alot of noise and static when i sample. Does the cable quality matter? Do i need to deoxidize my cables? Are my records too damaged? Can gruv glide fix my ruined records?

is your TT connected via a mixer ?

You need to amplify signal from your turntable, before the mpc. You need to ground the turntable as well.
Like pt3r suggested, a simple mixer with phono inputs will do, or just an amplifier with phono ins.

i connect my turntable to my mixer, then my MPC, but i still get all that static n noise

My suggestions:

-make sure,that you are conecting cables from turntable to phono input in your mixer (it can't be the line input)

-make sure that you ground the turntable to the mixer correctly.sometimes even if you connect the 'ground' wire to the mixer,the static noise is still audiable.you have to try to get rid of it completely

-try sampling to your mpc with different audio cables.I mean,if you tried with one pair od RCA cables,try another pair,maybe more expensive ones (self made stuff can sometimes cause loss in audio signal)

-to eliminate possibility of having faulty INS in your mpc or faulty INS/OUTS in your mixer,sample something from a cd player - the signal doesn't need to be amplified,so connect it directly to the mpc without a mixer
