wtf? you can totally do this. i just got my 500 last night and it was the first thing i made sure it could do. gotta have that to use it live.

all you do is while a track is playing you hit overdub+play to start the overdub, bang some pads, then simply hit the overdub button (by itself this time) to exit overdub mode with the sequence still playing.

then you go to a new track (while its still playing), and enter overdub (overdub+play) bang some pads, then hit overdub and your new track is playing on top of your old track and the sequencer has been running the whole time.

Didn't work for me when I tried it, will have to try again when I get home.

definately works for me. mine still has os 1.0 on it, not 1.11.

please let me know what os you are using and follow the steps carefully, if they broke that i wont be upgraded to 1.11.

note: i never ever use the "play start" above the play button and have no idea what that does. never hit stop button either.

hit the track button to be on the track screen
record+play record your first stuff
hit record by itself to stop recording and continue playback
overdub+play to enter overdub mode (same track or different track is fine)
hit overdub by itself once to exit overdub mode and continue playback

Im shure its just me, hitting buttons to fast,
But for anyone out there with a card full of Kits, samples and whatnot, anyone
notice how when your going through them to load them, one after another, ie hitting play to play the kick, snare or sample your loading, scrolling through them, the 500 likes to start playing your sequences back, while your going through your samples...It happens to me with the 1.0 and the 1.11 firmware..

I'd love to have some form of waveform view, so chopping beats would be a a bit easier. I get by doing it by ear, but it tends to take a bit long. It would be great even if the waveform view would only occupy one row and have low resolution, since you're generally only concerned with where the next beat starts.

Would be cool, but highly unlikely.
