Insufficient memory

I upgraded to os 2.10 just so i could chop samples and now i can't even load or chop samples that i recorded. Has anyone else got this message before. this is the reason why i asked about getting more ram. or is it because i didn't format my internal memory after upgrading

you are still working with the default 16mb. RAM. Actually 11MB cause 5mb are from the internal sounds. You have to upgrade to 128mb RAM

I've just had a similar message, i've got a 32MB but when I switch it on, it's says 16MB.

How you you update it and let it know your using a 32MB card?

refer to my above post. you can get 128mb of RAM relatively cheap in cost.

I was able to pick up a 256mb SODIMM CL3 Toshiba for $25 delivered new off of eBay.

all you have to do is look for these particular specs of the RAM and you are good to go...

now when I boot up I see 128mb.

OK, that's good, i'll defiantely look into that.

What's about for now, I can't get past the slicing stage so I can't make beats...what do I need to delete to create space?

Just delete all programs and samples you dont need from your ram, avoid autoloading stuff you dont need.

Seems to be right, i wasnt sure if its 144pin, googled the product and it is.

i ordered that same RAM from Newegg.com yesterday for $30 US.

after a year i REALLY need that upgrade.

took me damn long enough.

that's easy to say but hard to do because you can't erase the internal memory.

Cant you set an emty folder to autoload with the akai os? Cant remember, JJ all the way.

And btw i was speaking of RAM, just delete all programs and press purge, so it should be completely empty (except for the seqs of course)
