wouldnt it be cool to have more effect to choose from? like the sp404 has a bunch of them, i think its like 20 of them. this would make this OS so much better than it already is.

MORE EFFECTS!!!

better of jus copping the 404 for fx cuz the akai fx suck

Programming effects is much more demanding than programming the sequencer software and involves complex mathematics. Programming GOOD SOUNDING EFFECTS is even harder. I don't think JJ does that kind of stuff... He did change the fx setup (so we can use all fx types in both fx units), but not the fx algorithms...

Use the external outs and get good outboard gear instead...

yep jus gota fiter factory on ebay.... :D but for sum reason vst hasnt replyd bout the pad fix thay i wonted... dat makkzmeemaaaaaaddddddd!!!!

whydoesthe sp 303 have better pads tha the mpc 1000?

strange buttru!

8bit-12bit re-sampling.... i feel that this is possible.

i'm afraid i have to disagree with the move to add more effects into the mpc1000.

as is, the only effects i use are the master eq/comp and occassionaly some reverb. i am not a fan of the mpc effects and how much resources they take up. i'd much rather see the machine's sequencer and offline sample manipulaitions get amped up than effects.

the mpc has never been an effects box and i hope it never becomes one. it's like asking a cow to lay an egg or a chicken to produce milk.

agreed with nym, i hardly ever use the effects.. maybe sometimes a reverb for my snares or a little bit compression..

still saving up for a new soundcard to use the 6 mono outputs at once to my computer to mixdown everything in cubase .. vst/dx plugins are so much better for mixing!

yea now that i think of it all the only effect i ever used is the EQ, Reverb, and the compressor. but i might cop the 404 but that be waaaay later

i personnaly use the effects a lot, they are what they are and they do it pretty good when you know what your looking for.
of course i don't ask my mpc to have the same qualities as my external effects processor (which cost the price of the mpc...)but i like the chip sound of them. they are usefull (when i go on stage no need to take anything more than the mpc.

but i d'on't really want new algorithms (convolution reverb don't have there places in this "chip and noisy box":D)
i would prefer more advanced sequencing features for the effects (like effects programs in grid... or automations (so i wouldn't need as much effect programs as i'm asking in an another thread...

keep in mind that mpc is basically a sequencer with extended function...
it's more interesting to make it become a true sampler with a true sequencer (it became because of JJ a true sequencer or i should perhaps say an instictive sequencer for quick composing)

creating effect algorithms is quite a long process compared to the midi in CC or compared to the news GUI features.

JJ added a second delay, it's quite easy (copy and paste the codes...)
starting from scracth is another job...
it's better to ask him some more midi and/ or sequencing functions (arpegiator, randomize/alter pattern, effects in grid, simult delay, midi delay etc, track selector (like the pad mute functions but to select a track...) q-link to more internal parameter (effects settings, highilighted value in mode pad11) etc, etc...

do you know what i mean?

I agree.

how about being able to add a different FX to each sample?? i hate that you can only use two at one time.

you could use every single one of the effects if you did two at a time and kept re-sampling

did you try to put an fx on each 32 tracks on a common computer?
don't think that the mpc will be able too...

I must admit, it would be kinda cool to have some new fx in there, but i don't think the processor in the mp1k would do to well at realtime fx to individual samples.

Also, I agree with everyone else that JJ's coding resourses, as well as the mpc's processor resourses are probably best kept to the sequencing/sampling side of things.

I wouldn't want The Japanese Jenious, or our mpc's processor bogged down by effect algorithims.

OFFLINE sample fx (such as timestretch, pitch shift, tuning, and the like) are fine, but even those i am not dying for. especially when this guy obviously has so many good ideas and inspiration for the sequencer, which is the truly best thing to upgrade and bulk up
