You are confusing the internal flash memory that stores and loads the factory default sounds with user RAM. Too many people do this.

Internal flash can only be overwritten (not formatted or erased), but doing so will have NO effect on the amount of available user RAM -- another point of confusion. RAM can easily be cleared by loading a new project or purging unassigned samples from the PROGRAM page. -- or just switching the thing off and on w/out autoload.

The manual tells you how to disable autoloading.

After that is done, using the POWER switch is the most accepted method.

I've just gotta 256MB RAM, so when that comes i'll probably just put it back on.

I'm guessing I do the same thing but select - Autoload - Internal Memory?

yesterday was the first day that mine popped up and said 128 MB.

it was wonderful
