I could be terribly mistaken, but it seems that my MPC didn't do this before (I'm using OS 4.44A)

Anyway, what's happening is when I play a sequence and go into the track mute screen, if I mute a track it automatically un-mutes it once the sequence loops back from the start. I don't think it ever used to do this and I don't like it one bit. How can I get it to stop?

nah the problem is not that I have mute's that I don't want I have UN-mutes that I don't want.

When it gets back to the beginning of the sequence it keeps un-muting whichever tracks I had just hit the pad to do a mute on, and it never did that before. I could mute a track and let the sequence loop and it would stay muted until I hit the pad again.

It isn't doing that now.

i think there are mute:on and mute:off events...have you deleted the first mute:off event? i think there is a little bug in this, because i have a prob that i never recorded trackmute in a beat but they are still there...strange..

be aware thet trck mutes can be recorded on any track
eg: the track mut of the track 5 can big triggered by track 6, so if your track 6 muted, there won't be no track mute event automation.
when you unmute track 6 it will trig the track mute event for the 5...

hope it helps

dvs-
Go to the Step Edit screen, there is likely a "Track Mute On" or "Track Mute Off"message as the very first event (scroll up!). Hit Delete.

This is a very annoying thing when it happens.
The important question is...
Is there a way to turn this feature off?

try going to the main screen and pressing f5 + window, and turn track mutes on. I'm pretty sure this is what you're trying to get, but then again I didn't 100% understand the question but it's worth a shot, hahah.

I found that Antonym's technique of just using the qlink to control realtime level shits on track mute for programming. Just use this technique. Unless this is for live purposes.

IS there any way to turn this feature completely off (not record track mutes)?
Seems like you should be able to...

^^^if you can't turn it off, I propose JJ make it an option.

<this is why i love my mpc because I'm always discovering quicker ways to do things especially shit that gets in the way of making music like annoying track mutes comin on and off>
anyways...

Although recording track mutes by accident can be annoying I found a quick and easy solution --- better than checking the event list in Step Edit.

in JJ 4.5
Instead just similar hit the ERASE button on each track and scroll all the way to the right till you see TRACK MUTES. Hit DO IT.
I knew you could delete notes but i did not know you could delete all events you create.

back to the beat...
