I use a Roland HPD-10 to play some of the sampled drums from the MPC, but the response isnt as tight as it is on a Korg ESX.

I have not messed with either machines MIDI settings. I just plug in the midi out of the HPD-10 to the MIDI in of the mpc and it works fine, but again, the response isnt as tight. Can anyone tell me if this is normal or if I can do so9mething make the response better.

yeah I dont think the mpc being slow is the problem.....

maybe the sounds you are using are not properly chopped... so that the attack that you are looking for isnt there...

i've used my mpc with drum pads and triggers before... and the timing is as good an any other midi device... (cartainly better than a computer)

try playing the same sounds using the pads on the mpc and see if they respond the same way....

thats the problem, the sounds triggered from the MPC sound fine but from the HPD-10 the response is a bit slow.

I do it on my ESX and its perfect. I'll check to see if the samples are trimmed right.
