I can see that people here seem to use their MPCs mostly for Hip-Hop and the likes, but I was wondering if any of you are familiar with Kompa. For those who are not, it is a musical genre from haiti. the drums on those songs have a certain swing to them (hard to explain without being heard), I was wondering if anyone here can tell me how I can get that same swing. I have already tried shifting the notes, but I still can't seem to get it right. Please help!

I have the MPC 2000XL

Thanx!

i dont see why it should be a problem on 1/16 or 1/32 timing. mess around with the swing settings on each of your drums. try shifting things earlier and later. and you can always turn timing off on certain instruments that need to be played as is. i say keep messing around with the settings.

I am not sure where I read that there are some swing templates in the mpc, can anyone tell me if this is correct and how do I find them?
