you cannot graphically change the envelope of the sounds, but you can set the attack delay sustain (not sure about that one though) and release

They're just AD envelopes. Or you can change the Decay mode to make it more like an AR. Same as the Akai OS.

you can play with the one shot/note on options too it acts like a release amp env...

yep, you can get close to the same outcome with a combo of AD + Velocity + Duration ... it's just a bit tedious.
