An other newbie here!! help!

hello, i just got the mpc 1000 and I need help with the connections and the things i need to make it work

I got my PC and an mpc 1000.. I want to know what else do I need to make it work!

Can i just plug it to my pc by USB and hear it off my pc speakers?or do i just plug the speakers directly in my mpc? or do i need special amp or a mixer or a special sound card (cause i got really a basic one that is stuck on the back of my pc) to do so?

In fact all i want to know is the basics to be able to hear my MPC from good speakers (mon pc ones) and not from earphones.

I know I know, but isnt there a simple answer to my question? In the manuel there is a big sketch on how to plug like 15 machines to an mpc but it doesnt explain how to plug speakers without an amplificator.

I think you will need powered speakers to be able to hear your stuff. If you're stretched for money you should be able to pick up a pair for around 10 bucks from a frys or best buy. You may need a connector to switch from the output of your mpc to the powered speakers but all in all you should be going for under 20 bucks

PC speakers are generally powered so yes you probably could use them directly from the MPC if you get the right connections to do so. However then you won't be able to hear your computer.

Your best bet would probably be to plug your MPC into your PC, only downside is you'll need you PC on to use the MPC but on the plus side you can record your tracks off the MPC onto your pc.

Assuming you have a standard soundcard on your pc all you need to do is connect the master output on the mpc into the Line In on the sound card on your computer. Finding a lead to do this may be a bit tricky since you would need a 2 x mono 6.3mm jacks to 1 x stereo 3.5mm jack cable. However I think your best bet if you can't find such a thing is get a RCA to stereo 3.5mm stereo jack cable which are quite common and 2 x RCA to mono 6.3mm jack adaptors which are also quite common, together they will make up the required cable.

Once you've got it connected you just need to turn the Line In level up on the playback section of your windows mixer (Start->All Programs->Accessories->Entertainment->Volume Control).

That should almost definately work if you have a standard sound card but if you have a pro one or one with some bundled mixer software the process might be slighly different.

The alternative is to get a little mixer and go MPC & Computer -> mixer -> speakers (assuming the speakers are powered).

Hey i got all the cables and stuff I plugged it in line IN but nothing happends in my sound control i dont see any line in

Ok ive got 4 speakers and 1 sub connected on FRONT and REAR on my sound card. This gives me a nice sound. Now i have my MPC , where i plugged 2 adaptor 1/4 male to RCA femal in left and right of STEREO OUT. In these adaptor ive got this cable, that I took at my school i think its 2 rca mono male to fit in adaptors( white and red) and all of this goes to a headphone male jack witch I placed in LINE IN behind my pc. Everything looks good but I dont know how to hear my mpc in my speakers.. maybe the long cable 2 rca mono isnt right.. (there is one thing I noticed on that cable: the red jack is not as long as the white one. I dont mean the MALE thing but the contour I dont know if you will understand but it doesnt really matter, it still fits like a glove) Anyways, tell me if this looks good or not and what can i DO that doesnt cost TO expensive cause im broke now that i have an MPC

yeah ive got the same thing.. but insted ive go 2 RCA plugs in witch I placed 2 rca to 1/4 adaptors.... all this i plugged in LINE IN behind my computer... after this i went in sound control, put all to the max.. and i still dont hear anything.. The only thing i could do was plug 1 of my speakers directly in my mpc with an 1/8 female to 1/4 male adaptor but this makes only one speaker work!
