Note variation

Supposedly its to flam your hi hats, but you can do all sorts of stuff with it, like set it to your filters, 16 levels or intensity, you know gives your playing more of a live feel, on da spot type deal.

damn well whats the use then? i do wanna learn it, but if i can use 16 levels then whats the use? there's gotta be something about that slider and that button thats useful....but since your the only one responding right now...i appreciate it

i guess it can give you a more naturual feeling, ya know, like you can hit dips in between where the 16 levels would hit, plus it gives you more of a feeling of playing an instrument, try using it with them bass sounds and set the samples to mono.

you press
SHIFT + Note Varition AFTER. then press a pad with a cool sample or drum or whatever noise tickles your fancy.
While hitting the pad move the slider. Hear that ish? Play a sample to the beat. You can also adjust filters, velocity, attack decay, all that good stuff. You can record the movements from the slider. Play melodys with a sample. You can change notes params (tuning is my favorite) of samples that are already sequenced just assign the pad you want. Dont sleep. Its a nice feature.

yeah smoove, just mess around with it, I think people use that slider in all different ways. I just see it as another way to create! Ive made crazy sounds and noizes with the slider man.

I actually use it ALOT with small length sounds and drums. It's a valuable feature for me. I know many people who have never used it though and they claim they used their MPC's 100%.

i think the most important part of it is the AFTER button. This means that it will effect sounds AFTER they are sequenced. So you can play lay down an 1/8 hhat pattern with NOTE REPEAT. Then press (shift+AFTER) selcet the hat then press after. I like to use the ATTACK setting for hats. Then make them open and close. Just the Sec you are done recording turn off the AFTER button.

damn this shit actually sounds kinda confusing (i know it aint) but once i learn it its a done deal! thanks yall. i was tired as hell last night...i started a beat, saved it and took our ass to bed. plus my baby kept bangin my keyboard. i plan on tryin 2night tho....thanks

Its mad simple.
Make a beat.
Press shift + AFTER (button above slider). Assign a pad to the slider.
ex. snare.
Press after while beat is playing.
Now move the slider.
With that button of it will only effect pads that are being played not pads that have been played. hence AFTER.
Try it on your snares with tuning.
