Just wondering where you guys keep your drum/sample libraries. Do you guys keep them on the Hard drive or do you have them on various CF cards?

From what i've heard, the CF slot on the MPC1000 isn't that good, so I was thinking it won't be a good idea to insert and remove CF cards a lot.

On the otherhand moving downloaded drum libraries to the HD is a B****. It takes a while to load these libraries from my computer to CF card, load the samples to RAM, re-save the samples to the Hard drive. i ended up just leaving those things on the CF card. Is there any easier way to transfer files to the HD? am I missing something? or is it just this hard?

However, lately, I've been sampling battle records and i'm debating where i should save those. HD or CF?

Where do you guys store you samples/drums???

Yes, you are missing something. It is the toggle on the USB page that switches between the HD and the CF. You do have to unmount the drive from the computer to preform the switch over, though.

Moving downloaded drum libraries to the MPC hard drive is easy actually. I have the AKAI internal 40G harddrive, and its simple.

Yes, the CF card reader is not the best, so I have a 2G card that I leave in the slot but dont push it in all the way (so the machine doesnt read it). This way I have it just in case.

If you plug in the USB from your MPC to your computer (remember I have the harddrive) and plug it to your computer, then push Mode - Load, then click the USB option (I think its F5 or somewhere close to there) it should load up no problem

You can easily access, load, and delete files to and from your MPC to your computer. I bought one of those sound libraries on CD rom and dumped it into my MPC from my laptop in about 3 minutes.

If you don't have an AKAI internal harddrive, get one. They are worth it.
