mpc 2000 xl with an sp 1200

hi! i have a mpc2000xl and i want to get an sp 1200 to sample and sequence my drumbreaks with the 12bit conversion...
What is the best setup to work with both of these machines?

It depends what you want to use each machine for.
As far as I can understand from your post, you are going to sample akai drum sounds into the sp 1200 and then use the sequencer of the sp 1200 to make tracks right ?
The setup for that is obvious - akai's OUTS into the sp 1200 INS and sp's OUTS into the recording / mixing device.

When you get this second piece of equipment, just try to combine them two into the best setup, the one that suits you, cause you're going to use it, not someone else, right ?

Oh, and syncing them via midi may be a good idea.
