Pitch-bend?

Can you pitch bend samples on the mpc1000? or does the pitch only change at the beginning when the sample is triggered? hope this makes sense. thanks

You can enter Pitch Bend Events into the sequencer in Step Edit and (I believe) record from and play back to external MIDI. However, the Sample Engine just doesn't recognize it and has none of the parameters that go with it (e.g. bend range). The MIDI Implementation chart says No, so it's not gonna happen conventionally.

There was another thread about this, someone found a workaround, I'll post a link if I find it...

i don't know if i'm asking what's just been asked with different terminology, but i thought you could change the pitch of a sample or make it a higher or lower note, which could be used to create a melody, and then save it . if not, would the only other option be to create different tones of the same sample using a computer editing program?

slider or 16 levels is your pitchbend.

yeah, hit the 16 Levels key, then hit your sample pad, then button F5 (Turn On). Hit record and play.
Sine-y kicks (909, 808) are fun.

ok check it-- say you have sampled a loop in the mpc1000. When you hit the pad, as the sample plays can you raise or lower the pitch in the middle section of that sample????

sampie- I can't do it, and it the way the sampling engine is nothing that effects the sound can be changed once it has been triggered. (ie- no pitch bend, no filter sweeps, no res sweeps, even using the q-link sliders.)

Oh, you can tune samples as they are assigned to pads, no problem. I have set up programs that map samples to different pads with different tunings, to play melodic stuff from pads or (better) external MIDI. I have a few PGMs like that on my site (link below) that use Hollow Sun samples from their site, mapped over all 64 pads (just over 5 octaves).
