Do You like it SOFT or HARD?

I am faced with a difficult decision, I can either buy MPC 2500 or sell my PC and get the black Macbook along with the mpd24 (controlling Battery in Cubase) and a pair of KRK RP6s. I use the Behringer I make heavy sampled hip hop music and I had the 1000 and 2000 XL for quite a long time. I know it all depends on me and what suits me the best, but I would like to hear different opinions and pros and cons. Thanks

Technology wise, that's the better choice once you get used to it. Gear wise, that's the better choice cause you get more and everything you mentioned is very useful.

i dunno bout that thread title...

i have a 2500 hooked up thru midi to battery 3. Since switchin to this setup ive gone back to just the 2500 and doing all my eq'ing with my mixer through the 8-0uts. The workflow within the 2500 alone is really easy.

With the battery 3 setup it was; chop in mpc, transfer chopped samples thru usb then load into battery...more hassle esp if ur high and dont feel like doing tedious work. (you also have to deal with latency if ur sound card is booty) Battery does have the lofi setting and drum articulations which are something new but in the end i dont use it for every beat.

Hardware imo offers the smoothest workflow and for me thats what its all about.

Workflow is the thing i am mainly concerned about. I know how fast can the mpc be, but I'd like someone working with the mpd and battery to tell me how good they feel about it. Anybody?
