New Motherboard

Can anybody tell me where I can get a motherboard for my MPC 2000 Classic, I already called Akai and they said they dont make them anymore, maybe a substitute would be good. Any suggestions???

Say mane the best thing would be to get a new MPC then. Akai no longer makes the 2000 classic nore does it stock parts for it. And if ya motherboard is going out then basically the rest of the machine holds no value except for parts. Its like having a nice slab and tha engine goes out, the main thing that runs it is what is mostly needed.

Hit that Ebay if ya planning on sticking with the MPC 2000/XL series. The most a new 2000 will cost is $500. Also check around pawn shops.

Well to start off for some reason when I installed my 32mb in the MPC my sample time said 32mb, and then I turned it off and then restarted it, it said 2mb and never said 32mb again. Then when its been on for a while and I restart it its like the MPC dont read the boot disk, and sometimes I'll get all kinds of numbers and letters (like a code) on my screen.

dont give up on that just yet keep **** with it take the memory out and restart it and put it back in u might have to do this 100 times or so...until its perfect like a beat. check all the individual pins where the memory goes too make sure they are intact lined up ect...make sure there aint no dirt or nothing in there. wipe the memory where it reads it with rubbing alcohol

im telllin u cause i went through the exact same thing with my original 2k and when it was givin me messages i realized i had the wrong floppy in so check everything like 5 times.

i honestly took out the screw for my classic and never put them back in cause my pad would like slide a little and then one pad would go out so to avoid unscrewing all over again i said **** it left the screws out.........
