PC crashing when connected to MPC1000

Everytime i connect my 1000 to my PC to sort files or whatever, it is fine for afew minutes, but then something happens and my computer goes to that blue error screen, and then shuts down.

Im wondering why it happens and if i need to download any drivers or anything for my PC?

I have windows XP btw.

Any advice would be wicked!

Reminds me of the problem i had with the usb connection to the mpd, the usb jack had a loose contact, my pc didnt like the usb device loggin in and off 20 times a second giving me a bluescreen too. I replaced the usb jack but the problem remained.

did you try a different USB port?

Have the USB cable already attatched to your computer without the MPC connected on the other end.
Then connect the other end of the cable to the MPC and go into the LOAD, USB mode.
