MPC and Logic

I`m having problems getting Logic to recognize the midi signal coming from my MPC 2000. I want to be able to record drums as midi so I can leter alter the notes, quantize, etc. I have Logic set up to receive the midi signal, and the mpc will initialise playback in logic, so I guess the midi sync is ok, but there is no signal from the pads. Any help would be appreciated, been at it for ages.

When you're tapping out the pads, set your track from drums to MIDI. Then it will send the pad midi data.
