bambam4236 wrote:After following this thread etc for a while as my 1000 has the same problem they all have with these crappy pads i decided to see if i could get some sort of response from akai support and I nearly fell over when they did reply....i know alot of requests have fallen on deaf ears for others.

After a few messages back and forwards i was informed of two things :

1. According to Akai a batch of units did go out with bad pads!
2. Apparently akais replacement pads are now improved upon!

What the f*%k ????

Admitting that there was a bad batch?
Our REPLACEMENT pads are improved upon?
How about a recall? Or FREE pads to those who got
the "bad batch"

[quote="Antonym"]blue and black question answered...

Are you saying that you think these "improved pads" are
in the black model?
Has this been confirmed?

I've asked the guy who told me all this about getting a free replacement set because i think its only right if a bad batch did go out....not sure what the response will be but i doubt very much that will happen :(

I'm still going to look into this other non akai option when its ready though.

I have about 3 pads that dont work on my 1000 and if Akai admits that they **** up then **** them is all I got to say. From now on I'm telling everyone to not **** with them cause the pads on their machines suck balls. I'm going to promote the MV-8000. **** cocksuckers dont even know what the hell they are doing over there and they aren't doing shit about it. **** AKAI!!!!

i would definitely buy a re-designed sheet of pads since pad #01 is losing sensitivity (original blue/red mpc1k model)

if it would happen to me, I'd be with it, too. the whole lower row of pads on my friend's mpc are worn out (but he's at it like every day)

My MPC 1000 is still new, but I want the new pads installed. Why? Because I do not want to deal with non working pads. When I show it off to other people that are critical on performance of hardware I want to represent well with the hardware that I am using...

So Akai/Numark if you are listening, please fix your MPC1000 issue.

thank you,

Mark Cinense

COUNT ME IN!!!!!!!!! but heres my $0.02 on the situation

With the 1000's pads being faulty, the 2500 becomes more and more desirable. So what does that mean for Akai? More customers shelling out $1800 on a machine that pretty much has the same features as a 1000 mainly because of the pads. Is Akai ever going to place a recall on the pads? No, I doubt it cause then they would be losing money, and I'm pretty sure that they can't afford for that to happen especially with the Roland Mv and software samplers on the rise. But, I bet you if people start hitting Akai up with some Lawyers/Lawsuits, I bet you a recall would be sent out then!!! What can you possibly sue them for?you ask. THIS IS AMERICA YEAR "2007", YOU CAN GET SUED FOR ANYTHING THESE DAYS :!: :!: :!:

Like: This MPC1000 kicked my ass. You made it, now I'm gonna sue you for it!

Shit, forget about AKAI, don't buy theikr products if you want to make an impact. Nym's pad design is almost out, **** AKAI.
