12 channel mixer....

Hope you guys can help me out with this one. I would like to buy a 12 channel mixer. I heard mackies are good but i have no hands on experience. I would not mind buying one used so if you suggest an older model i would not mind. you have to start somewhere... Anyways good looks and peace...

mackies are quality! the behringer eurodesk are v good for the price....also check spirit/soundcraft.......

if i had the money it would be mackie all the way no doubt....

12 track mixer I wouldn`t really suggest because the CFX12 doesn`t have direct outs unless you use the inserts. In which case you wouldn`t be able to use postfader and eq your music as you would like. I recommend to get either the CR 1604VLZ Pro, CR 1642VLZ Pro, or the new Onyx Series that can use firewire to connect to your computer. Any of these will have the 8 postfader direct outputs that you can send your mix to an recorder on separate tracks, And you can find used mixers for a great price. But don`t just take my word for it. Check out the book (Mackie Compact Mixers )on amazon.com before you buy to get up to speed on the function. Anyway with 16 inputs you don`t have to worry about buying a new mixer when your equipment list expandddddddddds like I did.

I use a Mackie DFX12. 12 channel mixer w/ effects for a dope price (239.99). Plus its mackie so you you know its quality. Whatever you do, though, don't be tempted by one of them behringer joints. They're shitty, man. Sound bleeds through onto different channels.
