Slice sample problem, empty space.

Hello, I know I made two topics earlier, and sorry for that Lampdog, but I think this is really serious thing. (wont happen again)

So when you make equal slices, or whatever slices, MPC puts some empty space in front and end of every sliced sample? I cant just understand why they cant be straight cut like they were earlier? Can anyone help me with this.

Its just so stupid that If I set the start and end points and loop something, it loops greatly, but when I slice the same thing to pieces and play them in equal order, It wont work? Isnt that just stupid? It sounds like theres gaps between the slices. Also the same thing happens when I try to make smooth and nice chops from piece to piece. Theres nothing wrong with my slices, except the empty space??

I know that someone has this problem, I just dont know why the hell guys like Alchemist wont have this problem (like hearing his beats). Theyre superly smooth cutted and all that. There is one method what is that I take every piece manually and put them in pads, but thats too stupid.

And no, I dont use any threshold. Its 0.

And I use JJ OS 5.xx, but same thing happened in Akai Os (or didnt it lol?)

If this doesnt work either in JJ or Akai, we have to make request to akai to fix this.

I doubt the original OS, or even the JJ OS, would add dead air before their slices. I'm sure that when you hit the pad, the sample plays instantly. I'm guessing that it's the way you're sequencing the chops. Speed up the sequence's tempo and see what happens; you should be able to speed it up while the sequence is running until the gaps between your slices close.....

AND don't compare yourself to Alchemist. It's like comparing yourself to Kobe saying, "why don't my shots go in when I take it." Completely different level. It'll be something that'll occur less as you get better.

speed your tempo like 1/2 a bpm and it's fine.

Maybe Im missing the problem here... Why dont you just go back into the sound and trim out that space? Im sure thats what Alchemist or whomever else does..


I dont see what the issue is, to be honest. Its already doing almost all the work for you, right?

yeah why doesnt chop shop chop how u tell it to? im on jj 09 my chops are bang on when i zoom in but when i chop they get al freaky
