I'm a new MPC user and just picked up a used MPC3000. It came with an OS 3.16 floppy upgrade that also has TR-808 drums on it. I can turn on the 3000 and with this floppy in it and everything boots up and works fine, drums and all. But then I bought some new pre-formatted 2HD 1.44 disks and put them in the MPC to re-format to the 3000 format per the MPC manual instructions so I can save sequences and samples and I get a message that says the disk is corrupted or un-useable. I then tried taping the little open hole on the disk and get the same error message. What gives? One disk works, but new ones don't? Forgive my newby ignorance - how do I re-format a new disk?
The specific error that popped up on the MPC 3000 screen is "FF04"
