I highly recommend the Tutorial e-book

I bought it about a month ago. I highly suggest it for a newbie that is getting into MPC's. I've had so many situations where I read the book and went 'ahhhhh, thats how you do that.' Also, well over 2/3 of the questions I see repeatedly in this forum are answered in it, and plus, when you are all finished with the book, you actually are left with some 'decent' samples to use that came with the tutorials. Check it out.

p.s. I am in no way affiliated with whoever wrote the book, I just wanted to put in my two centavos.

I would totally buy it if I could afford it. I'm not much of a reader, and reading the manual for the mpc is like reading the Haynes manual for my car.... it might as well be in german. I would love the opportunity to read a more "readable" manual... but cash is tight around here.

I think if everyone here had a copy, there'd be less dumb questions (like the kind I ask)

i haven't read it because i don't think it existed in my early early days but from what i have heard i agree - it's more pertinent than the manual because i think it was written from a more "user" perspective.

someday i hope to pick it up because i'd like to write one for the jj os.

Agree, I'm sure it's good. However, I'd rather save some cash and buy the JJ OS and Nym's pads instead of having a book and no MPC

OK I have to jump in and second this opinion. I purchased the Ebook last year and kind of put it to the side because I was really busy at work, blah, blah, blah. Anyway, I picked it up again and DAMN it's fantastic! Even though things have changed tremendously with the new JJ OS, the book is still extremely relevant. This book will not only get you up to speed with the MPC quickly, but I found that it showed me features that I probably would have never touched if it wasn't for the book (and I'm still not finished with it yet). Beyond that, it shares a lot of experience on workflow and getting organized which kind of blew my mind. I'm starting over and doing it right this time.

BTW, I thought the price was steep too when I first picked it up (sorry Tutor ), but honestly if you're going to drop all the loot on buying an MPC, you're crazy not to learn to use it to it's fullest possibilities. The book quickly accelerates the learning curve and for that reason it's a great value. Not to mention, I'm quite happy to support this site.

Anyway, just my 2 cents.
