Forum to discuss all matters relating to the MPC1000 and MPC2500 operating systems created by 'JJ' (all versions).

I am happy with what I have so far. Just think back what JJ made from a buggy 1000 to the things we have today. I am pretty sure, after cleaning up the code and doing some new stuff on the 2500, JJ gets a good idea of what could possible fit in the MPC1000 to max it out and what not.

This was $30 well spend (even if I only use 30% of the new features). Thank you!

rabulisten wrote:im happy that that jj ran out of memory. This way the incredibly lame 8 bit 12 bit sampling wont happen. is pong still there? it was kinda fun for 2 seconds but the mpc is not game consol.so it should be ditched. Its kinda nice to knowing further upgrades will be minor bug fixes. This way i can relax and not pay attention to bugs ,updates and what not. JJ should be awarded a medal.

I agree totally!

There are more than enough features in the MPC1000 to make good quality music.

People like J Dilla and DJ Premier had much less features on their MPs but still made the hotest sh!t.

It's time to stop talking about features and start making some hot beats :)

i agree that in a way its a relief to know there is a ceiling

chasing updates is a game im happy to leave to computer users, a lot of people were happy to sto at Logic 5.5 on the pc and simply get on with using it, whereas depending on your temperamnet you can hope 'the answer' comes with the latest upgrade to your daw or sequencer or whatever...

anyway, as jahrome mentioned it would be good to know the exact spec of the 1k and 2500 OS space and if there are differences, what this means for the 2500 jj os roadmap

also maybe its a good time to list all the features of the 1k os and have a vote on which ones could be lost to make room for some final 'must-haves'? i cant even remember what people still wanted, i know the bit rate thing was a perennial, but im not sure if this would ever be satisfactory...

i personally would like the last optimisations to revolve as much as possible around workflow enhancements - all the 'do this without stopping' suggestions that have been made over the last year. did we get real time tc and swing yet? ive been away so missed the last few updates.

finally much props to jj for his work, and no love to akai for being so goddamn shady about the whole affair - they should come clean about jj's past and how it affects warrantied users, and they should give us some idea of their 'official' path for the 500, 1000 and 2500 os

so contradictory

just meant if JJ is a real genius he will keep improving the os and not let it die.

i'll never go back to akai os 2.10 just for the JJ slice mode.

thanks for clearing that up.
the last thing we need here is people hating on jj, when he's done a tremendous amount of work since the beginning.
so i'm glad you're not turning "anti-jj" on us. :)

JJ needs support and i hope he will overcome that os memory limitation problem. i've been using his OS from 3 to only 4.37 coz i'm pretty busy now but the only thing negative I said about him is that when a new OS is release he creates as many bugs as he fixes. anyway ganbare JJsama.

If it is truly the last major update, it was still money well spent. Even if the save bug was the only feature he fixed, the 3o bucks was worth it. The MPC 1000 was almost useless before JJ xconsidering the high probability of losing your work.

hahaha jj took out the game!!!.....hey anyone remember what i said before,

have different os's for different things

JJ os silver edition
JJ os gold edition
JJ os platinum edition

all depending what you need!!

jj should make a radically different alternate os from scratch and offer it as an ongoing side project for them adventurous types that wanna ride the fierce winds of dangerous change and reap the bountiful harvest of self-righteous indignation

i hope he google-translates that sentence into japanese ONE TIME
