I'm having problems recording what I'm actually playing....

Wud up people, I'm sort of new to the mpc2500, but I've got the hang of it for the most part, but sometimes I can't get it to record what I'm actually playing on the pads, and I think it has something to do with the time signature. I always have it set to 4/4, but how would I know what to change it to depending on the beat I wanna make ? Or is it the time signature that's messing with my recording, or am I missing something else ? Thanks and sorry bout the dumb question, but I as much as I read the manual there's no yes or no answers on this.

Check your timing correct? Turn of time correct and the MPC will play back exactly what you recorded.

I've actually tried that, but I can never get it 100%, so I'd just have to add maybe 1/64 or 1/32 time correction when I'm done ?

Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.
Maybe there is only one or two notes that need correcting after you've recorded all notes without quantizing.
Check it in the step edit.
Besides, it comes with time. I mean, you won't be able to play with great swing and groove only trying once. Unless you play drums or sth like that.
