Sirflex01 wrote:After finding the song I import the song into Sound Forge and "chop" it, the reason I chop it is because when I begin my slicing process in Recycle the shorter the song is the greater the possibility is that i'll be able to map each slice out on my keyboard. In other words if the song that I find is 4:00 minutes long and i want 4 second slices that's equal to 100 slices..there are only 88 keys on my keyboard so this isn't gonna work...So what I do is I divide that 4 minute song into into something smaller..In my song I took the first 40 seconds of the song and "chopped" it..after I "chopped it in sound forge i saved it to my desktop.

I make sure its exactly 1, 2, 3, 4 etc... bars long then i just use the zoning feature and chop it into how many notes there are in that sample. For example if its 2 bars ill chop it into 8 or if its 4 bars ill chop it into 16. This should help you out a bit.
that still presents the problem of a bar chop that has multiple notes in it. the timing of a lot of music doesn't conform well with the rigidity of a perfect loop. if you do this you may end up with awkward timing on some tracks.
what people (at least what i) mean by chopping to note is making your chops as small as logically reasonable, that is, literally 1 note per 1 chop.

use the same sample if you can but chop it up into single hits.
i find the hi-hats aren't always the crispest so you might want to throw some others
in there that are suitable.
