MPC help, new user!

Hi, I have a Technics turntable, denon mixer and MPC2k classic. I hooked it up a week ago and have struggled with this problem since then. The things is is that there are no signals of the turntable in the mixer. I mean, I use headphones and I can hear music, but the mixer doesn't register the sounds so that I can sample. The mixer registers the MPC and it works fine, but the problem is that i can't sample because the MPC can't find any signal!
Please help I'm goin nuts!=P

I tried and it still doesn't work, the MPC just won't record. And when I manually record, it has no sound...
This is how my system is hooked up, maybe there's something I'm doing wrong I don't know... (Took the pics with my phone, sorry for bad quality)

Have I connected it wrong?

if you dont see your signal meters jump on your mixer when your turntable is playing then its obvious the signal is not running through your mixer. then the problem would have to be with the mixer. maybe the channel isnt turned up enough, maybe the channel is turned off, maybe the signal isnt amped enough or something......

if you do see the meter jump when the tt is playing then something is happening after the mixer.......

The transport buttons (record, play, etc,) are for your sequence not incoming audio. Be sure you are on the sample record page of your mpc. There are signal meters there for a visual check of your incoming signal. Try different cables and / or running direct with known good cables to try and isolate your problem.........

i can see wats wrong with ur setup
uve got it all wrong at ur mixer// unplug everything

1.plug in TT outs to "phono1/linein1" in mixer > !move the switch! to "ph" + do the grounding

2.from mixers "masterouts2" plug in cable to mpc's "record in"

3.from mpc's "main outs" to "line4" on the mixer !move the switch! to "ln"

now uve got TT on ch1 and mpc on ch2/
u must look out on the feedback loop> this means u can't record on mpc while ch2 fader is up. u can play both.

4. if u need this >plug in cable from masterouts1 to amp n do the groove!
thats it, try it

if the main outs of the mixer and connected to the record in ports of the MPC then a signal should be heard if you push mode pad5 (RECORD).

Can you hear a signal out the headphones when its connected to the mixer?

can you hear sound if you connect the main outs of the mixer to speakers?

Check your phono/line cut switches. hampster switches?
