How do you upgrade your MPC 2500 RAM to 2gig?

Since when was the RAM expandable to 2 gigs?! Is this a mod thing you can do with your MP?

Why on earth would you need 2 gigs of samples anyway?

why you ask? I want answers... but here goes...To be able to work with multiple artists on stage.. to be able to just drop thier wav file into a project and rock a show instead of using a laptop... 128 ram isn't that much when your project takes up 100mb. a 4 minute aiff takes up 41.3 mb thats running kinda tight !

Learn the capabilities of the gear you buy.

If it doesn't fit your needs then go with something that does.

Well if its not possible I might just have to bust out the laptop to assist my weak little mpc2500 that costs over 1000 dollars which can store 20 gig but can only use less than 1 % of it at a time in a project. I love my MPC don't get me wrong.. but you know once and a while you gotta slap your ho.

I fail to see the point in using the MPC live if your just gonna play the whole track in one hit..... :roll:

MPC 4000 can be expanded to 512bm and runs $2800 MPC 2500 128mb MAXIMUM RAM !!!! $2000 hmmm...for $800 I think I'll just get a laptop.

Good... maybe it's not what you need anyway. I think a laptop would be your best bet. :wink:

Yeah you may have mis-judged the potential of your MPC. Besides its meant more as a production tool than a live instrument or DJ type of device.

Although, I do agree with you that it is over-priced.

You should think outside the box, good for you. Just make sure you put the MPC back in the box when you return it. :lol:

Sounds to me like you want to use your mpc for stuff it's not really designed to be used for...it's a sampler not a audio track play back device...I think your laptop is probably your best option.

I never done anything live myself...but I have been told that MPCs have been used for live set-ups for quite some time now. And the older MPCs had a max of 32 MB of sample RAM.
