I know how to connect it so that it's slaved to Cubase, but not the other way around.
Can you (or anyone else) help or lead me in the right direction, please?

just connect it as you would with a midi keyboard, except the pads are your keys. make DRUM1 into Midi:Device1a or what ever on the MPC
