Help with Sample Chopping

ok so when there are drums and other sounds on a sample is there anyway to remove those sounds,or silent them, like if a sample is playing of drums and guitar and they are playing at the same time can i remove the drum noise, so that i just have the guitar sound? like i chop it before and after kicks and snares but i cant get everything i want with out a snare and a kick or hi hat being in the way. is there anyway to silence it or do you just have to chop around the drums? thanks guys

buy the JJ OS and theres a feature where you can do this. It all depends on the sample your usin.

EQ>EQ>EQ>EQ!! I find that its better sampling into the computer first. That way you can put the sample in a editor program w/a freq analyzer(Cool edit,Sound Forge,Acid,Audacity) and EQ the drums,instruments, etc in the sample, then send it to you mp to chop it up.

If you dont have a computer you can simply adjust the attack of each slice in the mp. But going by what you asked the computer route is the best way to go to do that.

Even with eqing and chopping you will still have tails of the drum sounds mixed with the freqs of the other instruments, very hard to get it real clean.
But you can surely make them more quiet if you mess around a little bit.

Apply good eq and adjust the attack, then when you put your drums on top you want even notice the old drums any more!!!

after i edit in acid, i then run a hi pass and band pass on the sample in the mpc, this usually put the kik way in the back like a faint thud. sometime the hi hats remain but i find that this gives the song more body or character having a second set of hi hats going off everytime the sample is triggered.
