From DJ To Producer..

First of I tried using the search engine but didn't have much luck finding what I needed..

I've been djing for roughly 4 years done all the clubs and partys etc. but I've always been intrigued by music production and decided to purchase an MPC (not sure which one yet undecided) well basically I was wondering what I would need to go with the MPC such as software or do I really need it to work with an MPC?

Basically my setup atm is

Vestax PDX2300 (X2)
A&H Xone:02 w/ Pro X-Fade
KRK RP8 Monitors (X2)
Dell Laptop

I use Adobe Audtion to do multi-tracking so I take it I could cut up the samples there as well as the MPC?

Any other software recommendations?

I used to do my dj stuff with soundforge and acid. Now I'm using Cubase. It's all a matter what you wanna do, taste and what works for you.

there are a lot of programs that can do the job, cubase, fruity, ableton live etc.

but a mpc will be a lot of fun, that's for sure
