My Mpc sounds files have a nasty background hum when i record out and into pro-tools... anyone else have this problem???

Im using and mbox pro... The problem is from every output master and individuals.... sucks ass... i get the impression it resonates from the internal harddrive..

... the hdd is not supposed to be spinning all the time... in fact it should stop spinning completely a few seconds after you leave the save/load/usb page.
if it does not stop spinning by itself after powering on the mpc just load one little sample from it and go to the main screen again. now it should stop within some seconds. i have e-mailed akai about this problem but got no reply till now.
other than that: check your cables, check your mbox with another soundproducing device, check for net humm, check if you have produced a circuit in signal routing,...

this only happens with the mpc... I have recorded my Nord rack directly through the Mbox and had no problems... I know its not an Mbox issue and an MPC issue.

If it wasnt such a pain i would take the drive out and retry.

The longer I have used this machine the more I like it, but the more I feel it dosnt quiet work the way it should.

I feel an MV8800 coming soon and the MP going back to Akai.

Ok so i have hooked up my MPC to a desk using all the Individual outputs and these are the problems i have incurred so far.

Digital Hum
Stereo out deciding not to work when individual sockets have plugs in them

is it just me ???

This machine is dope but this is really getting on my nuts now.
