New EB-16 - Does it come in a box?

Just bought an EB-16 off of eBay and the seller claimed it was brand new unopened in manufactures box.

However when I got it, it was just a nondescript cardboard box with the board in bubble wrap.

I'm asking because I'm trying to decide how to give this seller feedback.

I'm wondering if I walked into Guitar Center and bought one, would it come in a nondescript brown cardboard box with the board wrapped in nothing but bubble wrap?

does it really matter what kind of box it came in if we're talkin about feedback? if the board works and it reached you in a good amount of time, why not leave positive feedback?

i cant really remember how mine came...

Well to me it matters because before I purchased it I specifically sent the seller a question, since I've been burned on eBay merch. before, asking "Is this brand new, AKA from Akai, fresh from the factory NIB? Or is this a refurb that you've placed in a box and called it NIB."

I'm thinking that even when I've bought memory, it will at least come in a static protective pouch. This was shipped in bubble wrap only. It came without the screw that looks like it was to exist to fasten the board to the raised portion of the MPC frame.

Was just looking for a quick simple answer on a message board forum...

All the upgrades for the old machines came in plain boxes with just the part number on a sticker as far as I know. All mine certainly came like that from retail outlets. It's only the newer stuff (like for MPC1000 etc) that comes in flashy printed boxes. I wouldn't worry about it as long as it works ok.

I remember mine being in a plain box with a sticker for the model number and bubblewrap. I'm pretty sure Akai has always outsourced those parts, and their sources seem to change a lot over the years, so it probably varies. In all honesty there is no difference between new and used if it works. It either works or it doesn't. Understand what you are saying, but not worth giving bad feedback over.

mine came in a paper bag, it still had crumbs of weed in the bottom.
