i am completely new to the MPC world and would appreciate some advice if any could throw some tips out for newbies to the AKai models. ive worked with korgs, dr.sampler, and thats about it. I love my MPC but i know im missing out on a lot of stuff that would really make my songs that much better. i primarily saved all my other sample work on a computer- Cakewalk program. The mPC is a computer in it self, but i really don't think everyone just uses the MPC to save everything. i figured out to save a sequence with the presets but im having a problem when I load them. I saved a preset base line, but everytime i turn my machine on to load it i upload it, and its the same line only in the DJ HIP HOP bank. So i have to turn the dial to R Bass everytime. stupid question, but thats what this site is for i heard. Another question i have which is also going to sound stupid is what do you record drum beats in- sequence or tracks. I know tracks make up the sequence but when saving what do i save them in? another dumb question- i hate the manual akai has so im posting all my q's on this post. How do you trigger a sample to play repeatedly or looped. I'm used to the Dr. sampler where you hit the pad to start a continious loop then hit it when ever you want to stop the loop. how is this done on The MPC 1000.
if anyone has any other pointers on starting out on the M 1000 i would appreciate it.
