insufficent memory

every time i wanna slice a sample into 8 or wat ever in says insufficent memory but my wav space isn t at zero then one time it didn t but it s the same sample i am loading up

You need to purge your existing samples on your hard disk. Save them to the compact flash if you want. Then your sample time should increase.

Also, try sampling in mono, it takes up less space

dont sample mono .... get the expanded memory or take smaller sample snippets

You did mean to say purge the samples in memory didn't you?

Why do so many people on here seem to confuse hard disks with memory?

Sampling in mono IS a good idea. Not only saves space but avoids phasing problems in the mix. Sometimes you will want to use stereo for certain things thou..

Sounds like this guy just needs the RAM upgrade... but he didn't even tell us how much memory he has....

Once again, we are seeing confusion between HD/CF storage media and user RAM.

HD/CF size has no effect on the amount of available user RAM. Check the "RAM and CF" sticky thread at the top of the forum for more info and recommendations.

Yes, the sample is too big, probably because the amount of user RAM is too small!

I've been explaining this to folks since i was 16 and got my first job at best buy in the computer department.

Don't throw such rumors out there

It won't make the MPC faster, that depends only on the processor. It might help if you are constantly working at the edge of memory capacity cause the MPC tends to start lagging if that happens, yes.

in my experince it sped up the trim mode ... And for the record it doesnt load / save any faster???? I for some reason thought it did
