I did Configure My Tap Tempo Button.... Set to 4 bars because I always make 4 or 8 bar sequences. When I used to tap the tempo on my old MPC 2000 it always worked, but I still had to adjust the tempo to within a few + or -BPMs. Now I have a brand new 2000XL, and I tap... and tap... and tap... and the tempo doesn't move. So I tap faster and it responds, but when I am trying to tap to the tempo of my sample, it doesn't move, so I have to adjust it with the data wheel. I can easily work without it as you can see if you check the links below, but I want to use it..... It bugs the F**k out of me. Also Does anyone know how to fix a problem with the stereo outs picking up radio reception??? That bugs me too. I just got the MPC in November. It's not the cables or anything else, I checked and narrowed it down to just that

that sampling is an art form that changes from artist to artist there is know correct way or format just basic tools that must be learned this is why two cats can get the same sample and make 2 diffrent sounds its colors on a pallet and brush strokes and it can drive you mad

cus im almost to the point of cuttin off my ear/
im so hit and miss with sampling and have been doing it for years

I always do that as soon as I start p the machine, I don't think it's that because it worked almost perfect on my old MPC 2000.

OTHERS Screen
Hold down SHIFT and press OTHER (8 on the numeric pad) to display the OTHER mode screen.

• Tap averaging:
Hit TAP TEMPO to set the tempo. The MPC2000XL sets the tempo to the average of the tempo tapped.

Set the number of taps used to calculate the tempo here.

When this is set to a large value, it is possible to get an accurate tempo. However, this does not respond to rapid changes in the tempo.

When this is set to a small value, the function will be able to cope with rapid changes in the tempo, but the inaccuracy of the displayed tempo will increase.

Hold down SHIFT and rotate the DATA wheel to set the contrast of the LCD. It is possible to change this regardless of the displayed mode.

Thanks you guys, I have tried this many times, but I really think that the button is really broken on my 2000XL. I have tried using the TapTempo button as many ways as I know and understand how, it just seems to not work the same as on my last machine. That's cool though because I am thinking of sending it to AKAI to fix that static reception problem with my stereo outs picking up AM signals.
