hello everyone, i searched the forums for this and checked sterioid.com but i cant find these answers.

1. What is the difference between the blue and red mpc1000 and the black on black mpc1000?

2. and what else can i use besides a record player to capture sound snippets. (like i want to know to konw if i can save a sound snippet on a compact flash card and theen put it in the the mpc1000 and load it up.)

1: NONE!!
2: any souce you can plug in to the mpc via 1/4" Mic....cd player etc. (samples) and yes.

thanks for the reply, this helps alot. i have 2 more questions aswell.

1. can i save samples on the machine and turn it off ad when it turns back on, will they be there.

2. can the mpc 1000 be used as a sampler as well rather than just a drum machine.

i own a korg smk11 and a korg amk11 and im only used to the analog feature that are available. the only reason why i am asking about the samples is because i dont wanna spend 600 on a drum machine when i can buy one for 300.

the RAM is reset each time you turn it off and back on, but if you save to compact flash or optional internal hard drive they will be there.

mpc1000 makes a great sampler. with the 128mb ram upgrade you can sample up to 12min in stereo. and the record main outs feature is nice to resample sequences to wav.

vhs is my favorite thing to sample these days.

how does this work? rca connections I know but you only have audio? or also video?
