Damn I don't know what it is but I've been in some prog. rock/psychedelic phase lately. Maybe because I've been smoking insane amounts of weed too and that shit sounds awesome when you're high.

Anyway, anyone else dig that stuff? Any bands you can recommend? I like King Crimson, Vanilla Fudge, the basic shit. Anyone got some band I can dig for? Some rarer shit?

Or should I take this to a board that isn't dominately hip hop? :D

Psych / Prog stuff is very good for listening and sampling.. Some stuff to check for ...

Atomic Rooster (breaks)
Andromeda
Azachel
Big Group
Blue Cheer
Buffalo
Captain Beyond (breaks)
Czar
Dust
Electric Prunes (Psych produced by David Axelrod)
Epitaph
Fat
Flower Travelin Band (Japanses prog / psych with breaks)
Fuzzy Duck (English prog / psych with breaks)
Joesfus (Domestic prog / psych with breaks)
JPT Scare Band (Domestic prog / psych with breaks)

Shit.... Almost all of them got them drums.. Gotta love them heavy heavy prog drums.. Yeah, I like prog / pysch stuff.. You will not be disappointed with anything on that list... and that is just a small, small picture..

enjoy..

Psych rock can be just as hard to find and expensive as some classic soul and jazz cuts. There is some dope shit out there though.

Get Can - Tago Mago. Incredible, and even better when high!

By spectre Thu Apr 05, 2007 3:17 am
Got that. I dig Can.

Today I got -

Fever Tree - Self Titled debut from 1968. Sick Madlib loop on that. It's the sample for "America's Most Blunted" I believe

and

Best of Buffalo Springfield on ATCO

I also got an LP by the drummer from Vanilla Fudge. Not so good but there's a few drum samples on it.

Peace
